Birds Don’t Live Long

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Saturday, August 1, 2009

Did you ever wonder why, birds don’t live
Long? I can feel it, extermination.
Did I even savor grace, when I lived
It? I used to feel it(I asked to feet it). Oh, what, Diction?

So, Tell the truth, exponentially
Thinking. One life is something/nothing. I
Know, I’m so many. Regardless, really,
Didn’t I tell you everything was something?!

Scoff you! I mean me, quivering knowledge,
Slay me with first shaft, or do me over
And over… Words, don’t come back to me purged
Without some meaning! Did we forever

Choose Death? Did you ever wonder to see
Antithesis? I did, I have, I had .. er.

The value of life is not what we can put upon it ourselves but what the ones we love place upon us. Our parents, our spouses or lovers, our children, our friends and a higher power still are the ones who can truly judge our worth. Great write Erin.

death and life is a cycle we can never seem to free our selves of until we fly from the nest ... over & over again ...
