Repeat

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Friday, October 23, 2009

I’d thought I’d seen ‘it all’,
After 9/11. What could be worse?
Yet, in the years after, it is,
And it isn’t. I wonder why I keep
Trying to imagine worse than worse,
And then repeat myself. I’ve been wending
Through my personal worsts, and kept holding
Them dear. And they are, oh so dearly
Dearest, last remnant of constructed Me!

I thought I knew what was,
I read Science Fiction when I was young.
I could piece future life-things
Together, I was One! I wouldn’t rule the world,
I would understand it! In my small ways,
Sometimes worse, sometimes better,
In a smaller way. One way leads to others,
Holding alls, holding less, holding more,
Dearest and most best of all. Completion…

God?

Our spirituality or reality is oftened strained by the credibility of what we see going on in this world...I guess we must just stay on the ride and see where it leads.
