50,000 Bubbles

You wouldn’t think
one person
could hold 50,000 bubbles,
Much less one champagne bottle.
(But you can,
‘Thou shall not kill’)
Zotz! Remember them?
50,000 foaming bubbles
when you hit the middle,
seemed more like one,
more than a bottle of champagne.
(And, again,
‘Love thy neighbor’)
I’m glad I remember
50,000 bubbles, as a person,
of a life. Much less
than no champagne bottles.
(Why not
Respect your mother’)
Iceburgs? Remember them?
50,000 chocolate bubbles,
melting throughout,
seemed more like one,
more like many bottles of champagne.
(‘Thou shall not
Remain behind’)
