Iron Chef – Cheek and Tongue

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Friday, November 12, 2010

I can eat words,
Tongue and cheek,
I can’t eat
An animal’s tongue.

-if i ever wrote
an article,
I’d start with (h)Aa(e)(y).-

I can’t taste like
A chef, but, I can
Taste like a
Poet’s tongue;
In cheek, I mean.

-if i ever meant
Wordiness,
I’d end with (s)Zz(e)(y).-

Where I started,
Tongues my cheek,
I’d go with w.c.k.m.o.r.s.y.z.
If I could, be a tongue.

a poem in a cheek is much more valuable when the tongue has decided to speak ..

Cheek and Tongue, and vice versa. We'd starve, Erin,
if there were no words to eat. -gene.
