Dancing to Adam:Part IV

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Alone, again,
in the night's
computer glow,
and bobbling
equalizer lights,
discs and chips and heart
are running
freely. Lubricated.
Foreknowledge brings
anticipation, smiles
and laughter,
at self.
Tonight, I'm in
flannel,
down to my knees,
anyway, but
to me, it's a sexy flannel,
a gown of worth, because,
how
could being so gripped by music
as to dance in the night
be wrong?
Though I type, I am moving,
to the beginning, the eve
of unlearned instrument's
pulsing symphony.
Would it vibrate better
under water, change
the beating in the air,
sourrounding me?
Nothing could be as sweet
as the build up of
extrasensory
mountain peaks
and switchbacks,
with their breath-taking rapidity.
Then, long-slow
fingers of bass-el twangs
pluck and pull
core strings, low throb
of quitar,
wringing me out,
extending my swoon-like trance.
Plainitive dream-voice
rings out,
up and down the scale,
easily, smoothly
tonguing the word-tones,
giving me all his love,
jubilantly, quiveringly.
Pressure to move, builds.
Flannel flutters
to a loved passage,
almost time, now,
hearing lengthens to
slow rhythms, body sways
lazily, chaired, typing,
heel pounds
underneath, waiting
to be released
to the power
of sound. Surging.
Up. Out. To joyfully
feel in my soul
a force which uses
my body to escape earth,
cataclismically
orgasmic to my mind...
again, I dance
in the dark,
in my swirling
flannel nightie.

this was the most beautiful love affair with music I have ever heard. you have brought the carnal beat to life filling each instrument with its own sensuality.
Since the dawn music has been used as the prelude to joining of two
Your vision is now mine as I see each verse and hear the pounding of native drums inside
