Metallic Voices

They buzz and saw
at my mind, speaking in
metallic tongues,
in low waves of vibrations
and silent cacophony of sound,
reaching my core
of awareness.
I cringe,
not really wanting to hear
clearly
what fans and refrigerators
talk about...eclectic conversations?
Or could it be more?
It sounds like anger,
like a talk show gone bad,
or a nightly radio show
where everyone is fighting,
I can't quite
make out the words,
but it's eerie to hear
metallic conversations,
grating
throbbing
rasping
arguing
about...what?
Do other people hear
shrill speech
permeating the air?
It worries me
that I hear
metallic voices.
