“....and so, you see,
that is the difference
between lived time
and mechcanical time,
isn’t that interesting?
Zan taught me that,
I love to learn!"
“...huh, oh, yeah,
I graduated high school,
was the quarterback,
'til I wrecked my knee,
man, I was great...
ya know, I saw
a meteorite last night.”
“...oh, wow, did it
make you think
of cosmic life,
of sailing through
colored skies
of lambient radiancy?”
“...what, naw,
I remembered
I had to change
a light bulb
in the garage,
it was too dark
to see anything.”
“...too dark? Did you
dream of shadows
dancing and flirting,
grappling
with aura of soul’s
temptations?”
“...temptation? What,
did someone say
they saw me
drinking at that bar,
and dancing close
to the bar wench?”
“...a bar wench,
yeah, I’ld like to be
a bar wench, in
a magical kingdom,
and the prince
sees me, and is
entranced,
and he rides up
on his shining
white horse
and we live hap...”
“...the entrance?
God, are you drunk?
we came in
the entrance,
don’t you remember,
we walked right in?”
“...yes, I will, I will
walk right in, into
the depths of my
imagination, but
I don’t see you there,
you are entombed,
sorry,
I must leave...”
“...you bitch,
who do you think
you are? You are
nothing to me,
good riddance,
get going,
hey, barkeep,
gimme another beer.”
“...going, yes, I am
going to the land
of open-mindedness
and compassion,
to the realms
of human respect,
goodbye to you, my
inconsequential bit
of human flotsam,
I bid you
adieu...I am
flying away
from here,
to...freedom.”
