Poet's Sense
by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen
Whispering wings flutter near,
as Poet's sense attunes briskly
to rising winds, words are frantically
gathered from the swirling ether.
A shaft of pain glances sharply,
rapture dervishes, and collides
with lust, fading to loss, as
titillating breezes giggle in rhyme.
Time looses power to thoughts,
lyrical phrases sing with elation,
gathered fleece starts to twine
into meanings, as freedom twinkles.
Colors bound into tapestry-form,
maniacal pen ripens painting's soul
as Poet's art wins the race
and spirit sighs with wordy release.
