Patch and Sow:Revised
by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen
A desperate race
to face regrets,
a cunning ruse
to erase the deaths,
of fragile soul,
who feels a hole
and can't forget
that life-made bets,
won or lost,
create the form
of whole's new shape,
now ragged and torn,
she begins to ache,
it feels like rape,
yet...
she sees a door,
there's hope for more
inside the norm,
but whence it comes,
right now, unsure,
oh, life so sweet,
can't take defeat,
must patch and sow,
must try to glow,
again to teach
those in her reach,
as days wane slow
soon she will be
a ghost of self,
she strangely sees,
a happier we,
continuity
recycles her life,
and opens the gate
that sets the pace,
so seals her fate,
a timeless date.

Tried to improve the "rush-of-time's-life-as-you-get-older" flow of this piece. It is an ode to my 44th New Year. It is also the 2nd New Year since the Towers fell. Never will New Year's Eve be as hallowed as "before". Tonight is the time to reflect, many times sadly, and future-reflect, with hopeful joy. May we all see peaceful improvements in ourselves and our precious world.

Most Interestingly So Unique!! As Many still Feel the Pain of It, Literally Millions Could Care Less___
It Is only the Few of us Who Will Survive It, not the Millions Who Could Care Less!!
