Gaining Leverage?

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

The mind aches with it's burden
of flimsy dreams
cemented into
the cracks of life's passing days.

The hands strain with their desire
to gain leverage
under the weighty slab
of routine's selfish commands.

The soul cries with it's despair
of ever changing
without the fiery will
of a self-loved human being.

Erin,
It is the soul that is the key in life!! To free it, is to free ourselves!

You always make me think and and I love your imagery!!!

Hugs,
Maria

Excellent write, life should be slower so we can take in all and drop off the rest we didnt need.
Loved it.
