She walked into a haze,
unclearly seeing, as
shadows leapt and played,
distorting, she believing,
she was alone.
She wailed into the maze,
“where am I?”, hearing
echoes misbehave,
getting louder, yet,
sounding so lonely.
She whispered in a daze,
“who am I?”, surely
it was a mistake, played
cruelly on a soul,
who is alone.
She wheeled about, amazed,
an answer! Comforting,
and proudly displayed,
were friends’ names,
no longer lonely.
