Life's fragility
death's finality
Man's ability
to create countries
wonderful bounties
but, not the whole world's
causes suffering
and moral buffering
which hardens conscience
with modern science
and causes problems
when sharing this world
as freedom unfurled
the towers crashed down
and we all felt drowned
in hopeless anger
there shined a bright light
events did ignite
compassion's meaning
no more demeaning
differences seen
because of cultures
no more of vultures
our souls to feed on
let's start a new dawn.
