I saw some people hurt, today,
friends of mine, Internet chums,
whom I’ve grown to love.

They’ve proffered their
spirits and hearts,
words and thoughts,
understanding and attitude,
to enrich others lives.
One was attacked directly,
slammed and degraded
by vacuous, selfish garbage
of belittled minds.
The other, insidiously,
distressed by doubts of self
brought on by words,
from deceptive fingers,
of clever acrimony,
disguised as Poetry.
The end results
of wounding pain
are equal.

I saw some people hurt, today,
and the world is smaller for it.
