the rats ran up the clock
to see what they had wrought
the mice police
recovered the fleece
divvying up what was bought
the bats flew up the clock
it seems a lion had caught
the fleas of caprice
whose bites never cease
asip on innocent thought
the cats climbed up the clock
they saw a Time distraught
the lice whose lease
has severed the peace
would one day come to naught

Feeling capricious, tonight...humanity and its frailities are so mortal and emotional. Pain comes in many forms to a mind that is cognitive.
Love it Erin!!
