Dani's Fainted!

Dani’s fainted! Poor talented lass!
She’s had such a shock,
here’s how it came to pass…
Trumpets announced the contest from den to den,
AD meant to make its authors happy again.
A cheer went up, some sent beers round,
a purpose!...such prestige, to wear this gold crown!
Vibrant energy sizzled, it hung in the air!
Manic abuse of muses howled from some lairs!
The glow from ids thinking spread over the globe,
pinpointed in variety of countries it showed,
encased in one world, or maybe more.
Poems were dredged and revised,
others captured with cunning,
many were crying and came down in a flood.
Sonnets were singing, rhymers were winging,
a few jumped from the sea, asking for tea!
Several shivered and hid, just little kids,
there were bonfires of love, hells above,
pieces of shadows lurking alone
and feel of a vultures tongue, licking on bone,
wringing from me a tiny-sharp moan.
Binocular visions focused religions,
pains of medical decisions
crashed into harmony, chaos combined,
while angular circles cannibalized time.
Faint echoed whispers, gliding on leaves,
quasars came down, scattering seeds,
hollow touched core, breath met dirt,
spatial length engulfed its worth…
and it continued in a Pan-like frenzy.
Poems were prancing and weeping,
the bug-types were creeping,
a couple were dreading
where mad thoughts were heading
and dove off a cliff, but uncomfortably missed!
Gamblers road in on ponies, eager to bet,
mountains bowed down, east turned to west,
mice chased eagles, stones turned soft...
cease this contest, we’re falling off!
Breathe.
Diversity elbowed each other aside,
egos crowded seductively,
carving statues from sweat and blood,
frozen, as the yellow brick road
bestowed its magical path
to Dani,
Quiller Extraordinaire!
