Devour...Me

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Sunday, September 21, 2003

The Masters, I wonder,
the artists of old,
lauded and applauded.
Functionality was archaic…
where did they crap,
where did they go?

When they needed to bathe,
after four or five days,
of totality in creative euphoria,
did they hate the task,
like I do?
I’ve written reams
in the shower
and forgotten them.

Did the process of eating,
to fuel the body,
escape them,
as I’ve found
when getting breakfast turns into
getting lunch?

Why do the actions of words
devour me?

Because You are a co-CREATOR and must be devoured to birth another

creation from the womb of imagination, fathered by Intuition in the eternity of Mother NOW.

"Devour...Me" is delivering the message while making questions to strike imagination and thoughts.

The intensity of the creative process is an enzyme that activates the metabolic

system and produces an energy that nourishes the spirit with the satisfying

actions of making, and the willingness to have the work done.

Long Healthy Creative Life may You, Poet Erin E. Moen, enjoy through a blissful blessed living.

KEEP YOUR HEART SYNCHRONIZING BEAUTY; let your mind generate WONDERS.

I know this very well. Lately I've been eating just to get rid of the distraction of hunger. I'm an escapist at heart. Sometimes it's hard to get back when eventually practical matters can't be ignored any longer.

I had to smile while reading this... knowing how well I fit into this description. Does make you wonder where the time goes. (especially when you're on a creative roll)
