I find glibness, inane,
I am squared.
I find shallowness, insane.
I am scared.
I feel enormousness of weight,
I feel conciliatory hate.
I feel sanctity’s been raped.
I can’t seem to escape.
I see youthfulness as foolish,
my older age as ghoulish,
anger erupting,
advancements disrupting.
I see pained souls as common,
Now’s ugly phenomenon,
morality crumbling,
everyone stumbling.
I find glibness, inane,
I am ultimately caged.
I find shallowness, insane.
I am inner war, waged.

Yeah, I can feel that.
This is the kind of writing that helps expand the boundaries of modern poetry, bringing drama and intelligence and reality to the usual over-abundance of artsy fluffiness. You weave some truly dark magic in a very few words, Erin. Superb!
Keep Your pen on paper.

Ps, I agree with the third paragraph totally!
well done!
