Does my grieving
for human fragilities,
especially my own,
discredit humanity?

(Should we close off
our feelings
in the face of adversity?)

Does my sighing
over awakened profundities,
especially my own,
discredit awareness?

(Should we shut down
our minds
from our intelligence?)

Does my beseeching
for enlightenment,
especially my own,
discredit eternity?

(Should we despair
the loss
of our sensitivity?)

Do I weep?

This was a masterful work indeed, mixing a comprehensive view of the inner turmoils in a palpable language, with fine subtleties of rime, and good form.

FANTASTIC WRITE, ERIN!!! Love this poem! The alternate voices, like a Greek Choir from the Subconscious, as the Conscious Mind sadly ruminates on the Whys and Wherefores... dramatic conterpoints! Be proud of this one!

Erin I have wept and I still weep. Your poem speaks, maybe you need to read mine again. I'm no hero, I made this perfectly clear, I live in fear but I don't let fear rule me. As far as horses are concerned, I hate riding horses, I'm not going to get on one to fall off. I did ride motorcycles, I fail off and have never been back on one, so you see I understand. I'll be with you recording the other hero's. G

To weep is often to heal. I have a tendency to use laughter as a shield against serious realities and, despite popular opinion, this is not necessarily a healthy attitude
