Melancholy

Flippant winds shiver the late fall foliage.
Chill whisperings foretell winter’s avalanche weight.
Along the fence, the mower has leveled the iris spears,
ragged, browning tufts of Bermuda grass are
entangling their spreading nature with chain link.
Rasping gutturals of crows echo hollowly.
Mulberry tree’s fallen leaves mourn summer’s loss.
Vivid green has turned into faded sunshine yellow,
draping the ground with Autumn’s last blanket of warmth,
entangling melancholy with linked chain nature.

I have a large mulberry tree in my backyard, mulberrys are still green though (I'm in Australia)I can't wait till they ripen,it gives lots of shade...your poem was very vivid and a great idea linking falling leaves and summers loss with sadness (meloncholy),I could relate.
