Shadowed Man

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Wednesday, October 15, 2003

Shadowed man,
chased by circles,
collapses truth
and falseness bled,
rest your head
upon your heart.

Shadowed man,
chasing circles,
uplifts mind
and shores up sand,
raise your hand
and touch a heart.

Shadowed land,
chases circles,
stand up straight,
and find what’s sought,
share your thoughts
and breach our hearts.

Dear erin--this poem makes me think of rationalizing deceiving men-not all burdened of their own ,but applied, discord-cogs and gears ticking-like an adolescent hangup-thought shell-concentric world thinking-ptolomy thought the earth was the center of the universe. Blind men beyond witness sometimes not only deceive and lie but suffer reinforced discouragement from the failure of good reasoning, are very suspicious.-guarded/mistrusting-in a corner facing death sometimes without a truth to take to the grave, and will refuse death, at any age, very hard to penetrate like a man with a chronic(physical) and painful life long sore who does not change his habits (i.e dishonest untrusted)unless the actual sore is healed. Night can change instantly to today of their needed witness to their problems.
A funny example be the history of a whole changed by a look alike mistake for a face of an extraterrestial-and then the origin of an entire planets history not on the planet.-Ptolemy, revisted-grown unquetioning criminal lines before moses,an english language that comes from a time of disease strife that is very circular and subject to abuse, the above described habituation makes for men of poor character and actions. Things pushed against things in search of something that is not here, but leads in a trail beyond in the other direction from the first push. It is the harsh to judge who train the lesser of our instincts.

Bravo,Erin, I love the terse phrasing and top-go metronomic meter! This is such an intellectual tease and yet fiercely passionate! There's something visceral mabout it... An excellent write!
