Do I move you, do you feel me?
Do I make you want to flinch?
I give emotions that special twist,
want you to view my deathless wish,
to be forever etched, with my light.

Do you perceive me? I can see you,
your subjectiveness is up for grabs.
I take your emotions and design my rhyme,
revealing a moment’s fleeting time,
and capturing a piece of Mankind's face.

Do we comprehend our gift of mind?
Can we flourish with imagination primed?
Is it possible to carry earth’s weight
as we continually subjugate our wills
to practical restraints of limitations?

When we move past uneasy truths,
do we enter a different spiritual truce?
It seems impossible to escape
the neediness of a thinking race
who can’t believe in eternity.

Do we move time? Can we find ways
to elevate our souls above the earth,
that has taught us the rules of mutating birth -
evolution’s anxious crutch to stay alive -
while we have blindness of physical sight?

Do you move me? Do you free me?
Do you make me want to flinch?
You give emotions realities twist,
I want to view your deathless wish,
so I can be forever etched, by your light.
