Stew

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Friday, October 31, 2003

Tomato rollicked in liquefied date,
Potato debauched, and melted away,
Lewd stock bubbled up lusting after plate,
While spoon flashed its bowl and held hands with bay.

Sequential potentialed, gala affaired.
Beware! Ensnared! And covered by lover,
Viscous promiscuous; marriage declared,
Potted, besotted; lover, uncover!

Carrots collapse, onions firing heat,
Seething progresses, beguiling senses,
Tomato frolics again to the beat
And, steaming, escapes, no more defenses!

Sighing with scalding, vegetables replete,
Satifies the cook, recipe complete!

Jaysus, Erin.. when you decide to throw yourself a word/rhyme party, the sky isn't even 'the limit!' My feet were rockin', head rollin' and my mind was singing' and swingin'.. who needs music.. you sing with panache and deliver with style. What a clever, expansive 'grab bag' is your mind... and damned fun to read! (smile) love, katy xox.
