Three Crows in the Sky

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Monday, November 10, 2003

The morning was vividly breezy,
clear blue scenes of summers chilled demise
expanded the width of futility.

Three crows in the sky, flying fast,
dipped and danced with enthusiasm,
swept sunshine into fragments,
arcing synchronized patterns
over shallowed shadows.

Do crows feel loss of season? Of reason?

Three hopes in the sky, flying high,
clipped and lanced with frustration,
wept midnight into fragments,
darking chaotic patterns
over shadowed shallows.

The morning is breezily vivid,
intense blue sense of the smallness of falls
expands the breadth of ambiguity.

breathless...you seem to have an affinity for crows...i've always been wary of them, because they are so smart and seemingly connected to deeper things. lol...they always stare at me when i walk by. then start talking once i pass. what's up with that?! wonderful work!

Another of your gems, Erin. The imagery is exquisite. The questions ponderable. I may someday write a poem about crows, thanks to your wonderful questions.
Best regards,
Leland
