Unknown Absolutes

by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen — Read all 1,670 poems by Erin Elizabeth Kelly-Moen

Friday, December 19, 2003

Absolutes of internal isolation
obtuse emerging spatial relations,
convergences committed to seeking why
cannot get through to the other side.
Catastrophic analysis
brings no peace, only frustration.

Absolutes, there are some, and none,
blatant, pursuing, unconsciously felt,
non-eternity cored, we yo-yo and yaw,
emotions and feelings rule human sense
of actively seeking a life undead.
Catatonic obscurity
spreads its demise, an aberration.

Absolutes constitute infirmity,
inflexibility revises the universe
with fragile might, crushed by weight
of emotional fright, dynamics scream
and feed on dreams, ideals demeaned.
Cumulative obstructions change flight,
absolves fleeing wile to...disconnect.

Absolutes afflict time, paradise is mimed,
though questioned through infinity,
drifting beyond vicinity, destination unknown.
Still, better being aware of cognizance.
Combined anxieties evolve reactions.
As a counterpoint, a lust for knowledge,
at least, says that we are here, erect-ed.

Indeed. I have just finished my penultimate year doing a social science degree which is infested with relativism - does anyone think that the marker applies this to exam marks?
I discovered the unknown absolute who made himself known to me in 1986.
Too many questions and analysis breeds non - absolutes.

A deep one, Erin!
Although I had to smile at the last two lines.
I know I am here...but I wonder sometimes how
erect I am...especially when snoozing at the
keyboard.

Erin I'm still on our ride, great big Harleys, rolling down the road, this was another winner my friend, roll on. Wait a minute

wind blowing in our faces,
traveling to joyous places,
nothing to do,
but enjoy the sky so blue,
landscapes of beauty,
sitting on our booty.
Eat, drink and be merry,
making life a cherry.

loves light, G

Absolutes -- limitations bother me to no end. I always need an open window somewhere -- Good write.
