Spring's Thrill

Sitting on the picnic table,
chilling in sky-blue cold,
thinking of starting
morning reflections,
listening to sun-warmed birds
singing in the Spring.
‘Cooocooos’ from doves,
changing to ‘HhunhHs’
when cats are sighted below.
A rush of wings
as ferocious heads swing,
longing for warm morning meal.
A crow lands on
a swinging palm frond,
clattering with her feet;
interestedingly croaking,
she’s pulling fraying palm fibers
to bind her early nest; Ha,
she almost fell off!
'TwutwuTwUTWutwu’, a
monotonous sound,
over and over, softly booms out
amid the constant ‘coocoocoo’,
and the ‘twerttwert’ and the
‘Cawcawcaew’ and
‘twittwittertweet’ and
chirpperuppings and…
compounding catastrophe!
Sunday morning reflections
will have to wait!
Nature’s symphony
is composing rebirth!

I can see the whole thing like a
work of art hanging on a wall.
It's beautiful.
