The eyes of dogs, soulful,
ever lapping
at the corners of her sight.
Vigilant devotion
is unsettling.
The eyes of cats, self-souled,
ever gazing
at the corners of her space.
Vigilant contemplation
is unnerving.
The eyes of birds, soulless,
ever peering
at the corners of her head.
Vigilant indifference
is unraveling.
The eyes of town, multi-souled,
ever watching
at the corners of her life.
Vigilant judging
is unceasing.
The eyes of ‘Her’, soul seeking,
overlapping
in the corners of her mind.
Vigilant disgust
is unchanging.
