From a discussion I started on Leonard Cohen's "Bird On A Wire":
Perhaps the most profound bit of lyric ever:
"I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch.
He said to me, 'You must not ask for so much.'
Then a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door.
She cried to me, 'Hey, why not ask for more?'"
A major portion of my own writing is summed up by these few words.
The endless internal struggle between the Stoic and the Romantic,
the reality principle of the ego and the pleasure principle of the id.
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
