See Me Clear Or Let Me Go
I can love with all that’s real,
But not if I am forced to kneel,
I won’t go quiet, won’t go small,
To make you stay or make you call.
If love means shrinking who I am,
Then do not claim you understand,
My heart is deep, my soul is fire,
But not for sale to your desire.
I’ve learned to stand, I’ve learned to burn,
To cry, to leave, and not return,
For if it costs the core of me,
It isn’t love, it’s agony.
So see me clear or let me go,
I’m not afraid of truth, you know.
I will not stay where I must hide
The waves that rise and burn inside.
