Each Crack Can Guide
I used to run from ache and fear,
To drown the truth I couldn’t bear,
But silence holds a deeper tone,
A voice that whispers, stay, you’re home.
The tears I hid began to fall,
And in their wake, I heard their call,
Sometimes too loud, then steady and low,
An open invitation to see what will grow.
Each crack will teach me, if I let it guide,
Each tremble will show me, why I shouldn’t hide,
So I’ll sit with the pain, and I’ll let it burn,
I’m no longer the one, who’ll try to turn.
I will listen close, I’ll let it break,
Let it all come to light, until I awake,
It speaks in stillness calm and true :
You are the storm, you once passed through.
For sorrow isn’t just a scar,
It shapes the strength of who you are,
What I once feared, I shall befriend,
For pain when heard, can start to mend.
