Buried Origins
If You dull the pain in search of peace,
What you numb will never cease,
It lies beneath each quiet pill,
Where buried wounds are pounding still.
Go where it haunts, don’t turn away,
The bruise you fear has more to say,
It isn’t there to break you down,
But show the roots that made you drown.
The sharpest truth is rarely kind,
But gives you back whats been confined,
The hands that shaped, were lost and torn,
And learned their love through grief and scorn.
Then follow hurt into the seam,
You’ll find the echo of their dream,
What you mistook for just your own,
Was something passed, and carved in bone.
Forgiveness isn’t soft or sweet,
It comes when pain and truth both meet,
You name the harm, you see it through,
And learn it once lived on in you.
The body mends in honest time,
Not through escape, but through the climb,
What once defined your inner war,
Now opens up an unseen door.
