True North
I stand where I once feared to be,
Rooted, now in certainty,
No need to mend another’s storm,
No shape to fit, no borrowed form.
The air is wide, the ground is clear,
My compass speaks, and I can hear,
It points to truth, it points to peace,
To where all anxious ties release.
I walk the silence without dread,
No weight of what I “should” be fed,
If others shift, if waters stirs,
I keep the course I’m on, not theirs.
For Peace is where my roots align,
The air is clear, this path is fine,
The joy is quiet, calm, and sure,
A steady light I will endure.
And I accept the discontent,
My honest steps may represent.
But I am free, the stance my own,
Tied to roots where all is known.
