Piercing Through
I come with vision that pierces disguise,
A truth in my chest, a fire in eyes,
I’ve carried the weight, so I will not pretend,
I know where the patterns must shatter and end.
You come with silence, a guarded refrain,
A heart that is shaped by unspoken pain,
You long for a love you’ll never reveal,
Cause protecting the wound is refusing to heal.
We mirror each other in shadows and flame,
Reflections that whisper we two are the same,
Yet one of us rose while the other held ground,
Afraid of the cost if truth should be found.
Still truth is the freedom, a much better start,
And new strength is carved from the shape of a heart,
The fire will mark you, the scar will remain,
But loss is the teacher that sharpens the gain.
