To Open Our Own Doors
Living life in our hushed tones
Speaking not of what one knows.
Afraid to help our own self grow
Over years our soul grows cold.
If we could only speak the truth
Our beauty could then shine anew.
But friendship is a thing that few
Can alter for a different view.
We’re wanting what we’d like to hear
Forcing lies makes it seem near
But truth is all that brings things clear
When you’re in love, don’t act from fear.
Behind life there is something more
This something we’ve been waiting for
Won’t lift a hand, too big a chore
To try and open our own doors.
