Here is a poem I wrote in celebration of my upcoming 25th Anniversary on July 18th.

We’ll soon be celebrating yet another anniversary,
We’ve been together, man and wife for a quarter of a century,
Looking back it appears it was only yesterday,
We made a vow to each other to love, cherish and obey.

Many of life’s storms we weathered, money sometimes low,
Hurricanes, cloudy days, some rain and very little snow,
Yet after each bleak streak of nature,
The sun shown brighter, shining the way to our future.

Out of our union, three beautiful children were born,
All three the apple of our eyes, apparently shown,
Two handsome boys, one beautiful baby girl,
One no more special than the other yet all three the center of our world.

We’ve endured the ultimate pain that no parent should endure,
Our family circle has been broken, a part no longer there,
One of our babies is now one of God’s angels,
Guarding us now through all of life’s toils and tangles.

Yet through it all we’ve stood tall on solid ground,
With God as our spiritual guide, he stands atop the mound.
But I am here to tell you, we still have many more anniversaries to look forward to,
And I know with the love in my heart, the best is yet to come with you.
