I saw my first while driving the trans-canada west of Ottawa in about 1990. Saw more this fall along the Niagara Escartment during their migration south...

See them all the time here in West Virginia. Especially at Cooper's Rock. But these turkey vultures have feathers on their heads. They're everywhere up there. Watching them circle for prey can be a beautiful thing.

Oh man they are ugly beasts too, well suited to their jobs...they are all over NJ it seems. You do these haiku so well John, I hesitate to to do them, as I don't ever seem to get it right...I know how, then again I don't...:) Peace thru Haiku, Ed & Rufuz
