For nearly 50 years, the various wildlife authorities on the great lakes have been engaged in a “put and take" fishery using Pacific Salmon. Oshawa Creek boasts a population f Chinooks. They weigh between 10 and 20 pounds and are 20 - 30 inches in length. In the rainforests of the Pacific NW, the salmon runs represent a significant source of fertilizer. This last fact reminds me f the interconnectedness of our world.
I have been praying for rain so the salmon can get to their spawning grounds. The Fraser is very low after a long, dry summer. Your string is a nice ode to the chinook salmon, John. Thank you. Love and peace,
Out fishin this past Saturday, caught mostly sharks but got one really nice Weakie that we re-released...what a grand fight he made, he deserved to live longer...Ed
