like a tackle box being stuffed for a trip there is much more that I have left out. The big lake is Lake Erie. The THOMPSON was a laker that had foundered near the turn of the last century ... It was part of the map that those who fished that part of the Lake in those days carried in their heads. Other such marks were, the big boiler, the little boiler, the target, and the hogsback. The Rideau is the Rideau canal that runs from Ottawa to Kingston.
bamboo pole, black line tied to the tip a snelled hook a snippet of worm drew a fat sunfish from under the willow and hooked me on fishing with an angle out on the big lake over the THOMPSON, In the big cedar strake boat with a new birthday rod, yellow pike, and blue fall to my 5 year old wiles fishing with an angle. level wind reel black line and plug. bird’s nests, and hang ups, more fish lost than caught. learning patience, fishing with an angle. catfish, and crappy, black bass and trout walleye, bullhead, and carp whitefish, pike, perch and ling all taken fishing with an angle banks of the Rideau, father’s duty, son’s debt discharged teaching my three as my fathers taught me fishing with an angle six decades spent on lake, pond, or stream casting, trolling or deep in thought plumbing the depths of soul and heart and life itself--- fishing with an angle

This is beautiful. I remember my dad teaching me to fish when I was young. It didn't please my mother becaue she considered it a boy thing, not fit for her little girl. thank you for bringing me a happy memory to think of on a day that is so difficult for me to deal with.
