I run my eyes over your body
There are scars, and marks and
imperfections. My gaze is piercing
but you do not flinch from me. Slowly,
I strip off my clothes, piece by piece,
revealing the story of my life.
I kiss each scar and imperfection,
of your body and soul,
with reverence and with awe
for these marks have made you.
I kiss them to bring you healing:
Just as your touch and tears and
nakedness brings healing to me.
“Take me,” you whisper again, “take me, now”
