Liquid Dream

Before I get confused and forget my dream

This poem is for you

Kind of spiritual in some way

To me anyway

You are so much more than any star

Flying across the windswept sky

Who knows

Loneliness of separation

But God has given light
Enough

For those who seek for it
And as my mind…
Enters wide open spaces
My heart whispers to you
About the confusion deep within
 As I try to speak words not spoken yet

Overlooking a sluggish stream

Water everywhere

Like a liquid dream
You stole my pain away
And dropped it some place unknown
Beyond death… where there is no life
Where it can never been found again
And then you replaced the void within
With only your love…
Your attention and moral support
The voice that speaks to me
Calm the stormy weather of my thoughts
Within the silent moments spend with you
I’m so imprisoned
By your love and understanding
My heart whispered to you within every grain of sand
And every sunshine memory
My impossible dreams

Was so lost and misguided

In a storm of sorrows

But more of anger
But my heart whispered to horizons across the sea
Within the late season of my life
Haunted love… heart on fire
Emotions too deep…but

Everything that you are

Comes to rest in me
You calmed me right there

Within my liquid dream

And left

Your footprints
In my heart
