Mortal Side

On the mortal side my love
Of somewhere unknown
There is a place
That is near enough
Where I sense you
In the indigo of the clouds
As daydreams slip sideways
And time has
No perceptible consequence
Elusive
As I have become
You juggle the urgent need
To let me go
With a heartfelt desire to
Repossess for me
The hopes and dreams
That give me substance
Balanced against the mystery
Of what killed me
Is a compelling urgency
To keep me whole
And growing
Into righteous womanhood
Ours not forever
Or exclusively
Perhaps but surely
Near enough

THIS was such an enjoyable read, Tink. You flitered with surrealism within your words and, at the same time, mysticism all wound around cryptic mystery. Thoroughly enjoyed this.

Ooooo, the tension in this is like a knife-edge, Tinka, a tightrope of emotion that is kept so neatly taut and balanced in bittersweet pain... so near and yet so far!! Tantalising and bleeding with a desire for resolution - last lines brilliant: "Ours not forever Or exclusively Perhaps but surely Near enough! The uncompromising compromise! Love this, thank you.
