By the Beautiful Disease

Germ and Infectious were always together,

Said Germ to Infectious, “I love flu weather,

So let’s go to that beautiful disease,

Follow along, say you’re with me!”

Anything that Germ would suggest to hurt

Infectious would always think it best to flirt,

So it would get its unwashed hands and holler

“All aboard gee I want to squallier.”

By the disease, by the disease, by the beautiful disease,

Germ and Infectious, Germ and Infectious, oh!   How happy they’ll be,

When each illness comes a-rolling in,

We will make you vomit and thin,

And we’ll stay until the antibiotics kick in.

Face in the toilet and then up for air,

Whether you’re rich or poor, we don’t really care,

We love to be inside your guts,

With the disease, you’ll be in a sick rut.

Germ was quite a sport on a Sunday,

Though it could infect a child’s health on a Monday,

And Infectious wouldn’t lose its feverish air

Would go to work, hospital scare.

Every Sunday it would make you heave at home,

Say, “It’s business, human, I’ve got to roam,”

Then it would hit its mark, get its unwashed hands and Infectious,

And say, “Come spread with me, shall we, we must!”

Tinks,

Scary sentiment. We are all one bad cold away from extinction. That's it! I'm packing up and heading for the mountains!

Peace,

View from an unusual angle, which reflects the way your mind works. Looking at matters from different points of view is what will ultimately reveal what is hidden either as an accident of life or intentionally. Your reference to business toward the end is quite true; in times of decline the chemical corps are among the few whose profits soar. A thing or two can be derived from that as well, that most dread to even consider. This is a thought provoking poem from any angle. Take care,

There once was a cucumber named Larry,
a little disjointed and bumpy,
and though he thought that acting was fun,
it somehow sent him on the run.
Now Larry and his good friend, Tomato Bob,
were one day vining on the Job,
when suddenly the farmers wife
emerged with her best paring knife
and said, "Can it."
