Now that he's freed of the numb
there's a pressure he never knew before.
Gone, the trap that was the mind,
ever encompassing,
containing,
confining.
Now opened to feel the suffering.
It must have long ago
entwined its tendrils
around this chest.
It is both foreign
and familiar,
a bully who is sitting on him
yet again.
And now, this unpleasant sensation
is the tie to the body,
his tie to this world.
\And in this dismal moment
he lifts his head to say,
“I feel."
