Mother's Day
Is here and gone
Remembering her kindness
Loving her dearly
Kisses exchange on Mother's Day
Presents she was too shy
To open always
Get togethers, food galore
Even though it was her day
She cooked
At days end
Dusk Arrives
Last light before the night
Thoughts of Mom
Still swirl in my head
Always wondered
The secrets of her happiness
at least the one demonstrated
My loving Mother
In her late years ended
the twilight of her life
in a world of her own
one we did not understand
Not knowing our names
Feeding her image
within the mirror
leaving scraps of food
on a dish
For the stranger
(Her reflection)
My dear Mom, always she shared
What little she possesed
Now I look deep within myself
Asking
How long will it be
Before I get there.
