I think, I breathe, I sleep
I can move in three dimensions
When I am Lucky
I hunt and I eat.

I've become one
With the swamp surrounding me
The mosquitos
No longer desire the taste
Of my blood.

It's become a repellent
To them
100% proof, pure whiskey
My solution
For my mountainman Blues.

With each sip
I joyously swallow
One more image, of her disappears
As it fades from black to white.

I have acquired
The musk and stench
Of my surroundings
Animals know my scent
I've come to know theirs.

The smell of Jasmine
Hers and the sweet breath
I used to inhale
Torture my nostrils.

Their scent refuses to abandon
The memory of what
Once was mine
Before I lost her
To a battle of time.

I witnessed, the true beauty
God had Blest her with
Her smile, laughter
Whispers in sensuous nights
When divine pleasures reign.

Now my bare back leans
Against A tick infested tree
As I wait to be blest
By just a little sleep.

Poet, as with anything or especially a loved one who was in ones life worth remembering, often times it is the very expressive nature and yearning of a human being, which truly separates “us” from the “wild kingdom.” Often times it is the beautiful “memories,” which allows one to continue to forge ahead through the quandary of living life. I enjoyed the unique comparisons you’ve tightly interwoven in this magnificent, well-crafted composition. Thank you for sharing it. Take good care and be well.

William,
Wow! This one really speaks. The images were crystal clear, and the pain was agonizing.
For me William, this was one of your very best, and I will keep it.
Stunning write.

A truly powerful image-filled piece, William - I wouldn't mind becoming one with nature, but not with the terrible painful memories of 'what might have been.'

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
