In the still of darkness
Before sunrise
Shadows fade before the coming
Of a new day
I still laid in bed
Arms folded under my head
Eyes wide open
Something was disturbing me
Inside my head
I'm not losing it
Nor going crazy
thinking of thoughts
I like to rhyme.
Sometime stuck in my mind
For a moment in time
I would like
To play with them, Braid them,
Weave them into lines
Than gracefully recite them
Into verses
Not of pain nor of being
In our Golden Years
But about something new
Occurring to me
Socializing!
In my youth
I was too busy working
Making ends meet
My primary was you
My children
My growing family
Too much work
Too much caring
Than you left an empty nest
And wonderful memories
For mon and I.
With retirement, came socializing
With our own kind
Kind?
Yes silver hair folks,
In our golden years
With one thing in common
How to make the best
Of our own time.
Time is of the Essense YOU described it well here William- I started Tracking you today-- want to know why? being around even attracted to people me in my age group;( baby boomers) and I am so glad you have just expressed this .
