I found myself at awe
In a hospital lobby
Where I was drowning
Within a well, Dried Of ink.
Inspiration struck me
Like lightning bolt
Thanks to a heart wrenching
Painting
That caught my undivided
Attention
My eyes were blest to view.
She was young
Beautiful as a princess
So early in her years
She was being called upon
In her last moments
She Laid
On her death bed.
Her long strands
Of golden hair
Sprawled on both sides
Of her piullow
A sad worried nurse
Stands nearby
A doctor, baffled
Sits on a chair, near her side
Wondering why.
Death was gentle to her
As it was written
On her face
It so gently caressed
Yet she knew
She was in good hands.
The Lord in all his glories
Stood by her side
His right hand
He placed on her forehead
As she released her last sigh
His left hand rested
On the doctor's shoulders.
The scene, seemed
To silently speak
"I'll Take It From Here"
I read these solemn words
Within the mercy
The artist had in his wisdom
To portrait
Upon the glory of His face.
William this is beautiful. I can imagine your heartstings being pulled by such a scene. I hope when my moment comes, God's hand is on my forehead and relieves the pain in my doctor's heart over my passing. Thank you for such a wonderful image of love.
