A Taste Of Honey
Is sweeter
In my dreams
Or in the expectation
Of ecstasy
Within my search
Of tomorrow.
~*~
Will I find the nectars
Of the Gods
In an ambrosia mix
Of life?
Are the bitterness
Of yesterday
In my awaiting moments
Of yet another day?
~~*~~
Am I to taste sorrow
Confusing it
For the sweetness of cane
Shared in darkess
By sadden shadows waiting
The never arrival
Of another tomorrow.
~~~*~~~
How sweetly are your descriptions of love's expectations! Bravo, William!
Ahhh, yes...great expectations...of tomorrow. But, how often we may miss the delights of today! Never pass up the bitter-sweet, either, William. Makes us more appreciative of the sweet :o)
Another dreamy thought-provoker!
You've written dreams just as they are...confusing and never dependable. It's the mystery we get when we least expect it.
You told it well.
Susan
The sweetness of life can be hard to find sometimes, but its great to keep sampling until we find that perfect taste we like, ...when love is in the air all things taste sweet. Just contemplating...cleverly and beautifully composed William. Love Panda:)
William, easier said than done, but one must be positive. There is always a silver lining. Trust in the Lord and tomorrow will be fine. If it isn't, then it's in your interest. Try to get the best of a bad situation. Victor
Quite Bittersweet, William - and quite a poem.
hey William, like this a lot, a whole lot. Maybe another tomorrow would be doing you and I a favor but that's in God's hands, out fate.
Then again I guess I should only speak for me. I'm living on borrowed time, and the nine lives of the cat. I actually died along time ago with my brothers in arms and each day afterwards. Sometimes I wonder why I was so lucky to survive. But survive I will for all who didn't and all who won't, not just survive but thrive with a smile and joy in my heart. No use wasting time
Ahhh, love ... astounding, enchanting, and we humans yearn for it, even hunger for a taste of it in our dreams. William, this poem is both astounding and enchanting. Who among us wouldn't identify with your lovely thoughts here? I love your writing, my friend.
