Christmas Night
~*~

The night was cold
The moon was half and bright
All the children were sleeping
This Christmas night.
~*~
The tots were all at there best today
Knowing Santa was on his way
On this special night
They bathe without a fight.
~*~
Hoping Santa, won't forget them
They ate their vegetables
Without being told
They even licked the pudding bowl.
~*~
Charging into bed, with gentle smiles
They drift into heavenly sleep
To the tune of soft carols
And thinking of Saint Nick.
~*~
Proud were Mommy and Daddy
As the tots were tucked in
Kissing them good night
Keeping an extra eye, on the twins.
~*~
The twins will be the first
Searching under the tree
Before running with a burst
To wake little sister indeed.
~*~
As they played with their toys
Wonder they did, of last night
Did they hear reindeer hooves
Or jingle bells, on the roof?

"Christmas Night"
You penned this jewel in 2002 and it is still one today.
Yes, fond memories of the sounds of holves on roofs or at least one thought they heard it~SMILE. Isn't it funny the way you think you hear those type of sounds when you are a child. Silly but true on that day I still stop for a listen although I know it is just a tale, just a fantasy(I guess we could call it a moment of silent)....but the thoughts and actions of giving is real(ALIVE) and is also very awesome. Thank you William for sharing this then and now again.
