My Valentine

A great poet (from the Ded)
Once asked
"Where The Hell Is Cupid?"
I couldn't find a suitable answer
To render
At the spur of the moment.

But I haven't seen Cupid
In approximately 45 years
The last arrow
He aimed in my direction
Stricking its bulls eye
Which is still embedded
Deep within the softness
Of my heart's tenderness
Leaving
His quiver, empty of arrows.

I just saw the cause
Of his amied arrows
When I opened my eyes
To greet a beautiful
Clear mountain
Valentine's morning
Just in time to vision
The loveliness before me
Slowly awakening
Yawning softly, gently rubbing
The sweet sleep
From her beautiful
Ebony mysterious eyes
I lovingly kissed her, she smiled.
