Was I, Before I Was?

Come to think of it
Before I was born
I remember nothing
Nor did I ever De ja Vu
About being or knowing
Strange people or places
From past history.

So therefore God willing
I must be a brand new soul
Was I previously an Angel
Guarding the gates
Or the streets of heaven?

Did I offend
Any of the heavenly Gods
Causing the lost of my wings?

I don’t know
But every night
I pray to the Gods
That I never dishonored
Nor desecrated
Anyone or anything
In connection with
My past
Before I became I.

Whether in this world,
In another dimension
Nor in the heavens above
May the Gods grant me
Peace.

i like this--it's flow, it's earthiness, it's questioning.

There are many psychological, psychobabble, chemical brain drain schit explinations for dejavous..Yogi said," It's like dejavue all over again."
No friend, you are not a new soul. Trust me on this one.

Peace be with you. Be assured your soul is unique and never belonged to something else. The idea of transmigration of souls is just a clutching at straws by those dissatisfied with themselves. Still quite a poem. Victor

Very spiritual poem with soul felt questions that we all ponder at times. Beautifully written William! Creator is a loving and forgiving God, aren't we blessed!;-)

William, this is profound & prolific, caused this reader to stop and think, "I didn't remember anything before I was born either!" Walking in God's light keeps us from offending and hurting anyone. This is a wonderful message we all should follow and will feel God's blessings everyday. A great inspirational poem. Where ever it came from its beautiful!

Peace.

Amen, D'Artagnan. And Deja Vu is a fascinating topic to me. On my many travels, I've often felt that I had somehow been to a place, before actually having been there, or somehow recognized something that should not have been familiar to me.

Life truly does hold many mysteries.

William another great one, I'm not too sure if I was before my time, but I plan on being in a much better place after my time here on earth. Thanks for sharing, have a wonderful day.

I know why!!! Monseigneur Cardinal Richelieu got fed up with your gang shenanigans and did a stool-pigeon on you all with Saint Peter, so, now all of you are starting all over again from fresh.
No dčjá vu's.
Dčjá vu? it is a kind of fajita one munches on Left Field?
